A.I.R - Artists In Residence Paros 2011

                           Sunbeam:  oxidized silver, gold-platted bronze, magnet,iron,feathers

                             99 gates and the bloody cross: oxidized bronze,iron,magnetvolcanic sand

 In the summer of 2011 we were in Parikia, the capital of Paros, invited by Apothiki Gallery, in the frame of the Artists in Residence (A.I.R.) exhibition.

The initial artwork with title ‘sunbeam’, inspired by the subject ‘sea, sun, sky’ and depicts a sunbeam.

The second artwork, which was produced there, was inspired by Panayia Ekatondapiliani (The Cathedral of the Virgin with the hundred Gates), and has the title “99 gates and the bloody cross”. It refers to the perpetual procedures we pass, the luminous and dark gates-phases we elapse, until we find the final gate (the hundredth) where the meaning of life lies.

Το καλοκαιρι του 2011 βρεθηκαμε στην Παροικια της Παρου στα πλαισια του artists in residence(A.I.R) φιλοξενουμενοι απο την γκαλερη Αποθηκη.
Το αρχικο εργο με τιτλο 'sunbeam',εμπνευσμενο απο το θεμα 'sea,sun,sky' απεικονιζει μια ηλιαχτιδα.
Το δευτερο εργο,το οποιο φτιαχτηκε εκει,εμπνευσμενο απο την Παναγια την Εκατονταπυλιανη,εχει τιτλο '99 gates and the bloody cross'.
Αναφερεται στις αεναες διαδικασιες που περναμε, στις φωτεινες και σκοτεινες πορτες-φασεις  που διαβαινουμε, μεχρι να βρουμε αυτην την απολυτη πυλη(την εκατοστη) οπου βρισκεται και το νοημα της ζωης..
